02/12/07 - Bodog Battle
Hey everyone, as you're probably aware, we made it through to the second live round of the Europe-wide Bodog Battle of the Bands, and now we need your votes to make it through to the next round and get a chance to play at the Carling Academy!
All you need to do is visit http://battle.bodoglife.eu/shows/detail.php?id=40, signup and vote for Circus Circus!
You can vote once a day until next Saturday (the 8th), and the more you vote the greater our chances, so please help us out!
22/08/07 - Long time no update
Well, needless to say it's been a while since i last updated this site - it doesn't seem like that long ago that we recorded out EP, but apparently that was February.
Oh well. Anyway, stuff has happened with Circus Circus, first and foremost there has been a lineup change - with Jim switching from bass onto lead guitar, and Pete assuming bass duties.
On the gig front we've been doing alright - supported :( (colon open-bracket) at Studio 24, played our first outdoor gig at the Stonehaven festival (and got ourselves a special mention in the paper!), and just last week we played our first proper gig in Glasgow.
We have some new material, which has been going down very well live - so if you haven't heard it yet (or even if you have heard it, and want to hear it again) - come along to our next gig - Thursday 13th September at Bannerman's
28/02/07 - EP!
So we finally got ourselves an EP! It features the songs 'Pornstar', 'Terms and Conditions Apply', 'We're Big in Japan', and 'Edie, I Burned Your House Down' and is titled Paid for with Alcohol.
You can download it over on the downloads page, or listen to it online on our MySpace.
We'll have a video for Pornstar coming soon, and we'll be lining up more gigs as well
16/02/07 - EP Coming Soon
Hey kids, we managed to get four tracks recorded with the help of The Union's golden god Andrew "The Motherbitch" Clyne and his side kick "The Midnight Ian".
They're being mastered as we speak, and we'll get them up pretty soon for your listening displeasure. Also on the cards is a short promo video courtesy of Marc Gaullier. Its all go - so keep your eyes peeled and your boobies feeled!
07/02/07 - News!
Yo kids - all is looking good on the gigs front, we're playing Punk In Public at Subway Cowgate on Thursday the 8th,
and if all goes well we'll also be playing the Heriot-Watt battle of the Bands on Tuesday the 13th. More info on the gigs page.
And it's finally happening - today is the day we start work on our first proper EP.
The recording itself will start this evening, and be (hopefully) completed in a second session the same time next week.
After that we just have to master the songs properly, and the EP will be ready to go!
In addition to this Marc is going to be busy filming the band and by the time the EP is ready to go we should also have a decent video for Pornstar!
10/01/07 - Happy New Year!
We're pleased to announce that we'll be playing our first gig of 2007 at the Edinburgh Rock Riot (at the eXchange at Marco's), on the 2nd of February. More info on the gigs page.
We'll be posting more gig photos and hopefully a new video or two soon.
25/11/06 - Christmas Hols
We've finished our recent spat of gigs and we're now taking a break for exams, Christmas and New Years.
Keep an eye out for more gigs in the new year!
19/10/06 - More gigs!
Well, the Edinburgh Rock Riot last Saturday went so well we'll be playing the next one on Friday the 27th!
Tickets are £4 for students again - more info on our gigs page.
We also have three gigs coming up in November - two at subway and one at Bannermans.
We're gonna be getting some new recordings made as soon as we can - so stay tuned!
08/10/06 - Are you ready for the Edinburgh Rock Riot?
After a spunktacular gig at Bannerman's last Thursday we're ready for our biggest gig so far, the Edinburgh Rock Riot at The Exchange on Grove Street.
7 bands, 5 hours - it's gonna be awesome!
More info on the gigs page
01/10/06 - Woo! Subway
So we played Subway last night, and it didn't go too badly at all.
We have a new video online for Pornstar as well as a bunch of photos from the gig!
See you all at Bannermans on Thursday!
20/09/06 - Alrighty Then
Well, the Henry's gig went alright... a few minor cock-ups all round but ah well.
Next up is the super-awesome subway gig! Showcasing four of Scotlands finest bands - Circus Circus (us, from Edinburgh), The Munchkins (from Livingston), Fluffy and the Rainbow Bunnys (from Aberdeen) and Psychadelic Hyperchrist (from Glasgow)
What's more, it's FREE ENTRY - so there's no excuse for not coming along!
More info on the gigs page!
28/08/06 - Subway gig confirmed!
Our mega-awesome night at Subway has just been confirmed, check out the gigs page for more info!
27/08/06 - Gigs Update
We've had to reschedule our Subway gig due to a double booking, it should now be on saturday the 30th of September - we're just waiting on Subway to give us definate confirmation.
We are still playing Henry's Cellar Bar on Friday 15th september, and we're going to be playing Bannermans on the 5th of october supporting Beaker!
28/07/06 - Have we got news for you!
Right then, the gig at Drummonds last Sunday went pretty damn well, Pollok knocked the lead out of his guitar a couple of times, and i got a nosebleed, but apart from that it was alright!
You can see photos from the gig as well as a video of us covering Dance The Night Away by The Mavericks!
And the good news doesn't stop there! We now have two gigs in Edinburgh sorted out: we're headling Subway Cowgate on the 1st of September; and we're playing Henry's Cellar Bar on the 15th!
20/07/06 - Gig this Sunday!
Don't forget - we'll be playing Cafe Drummonds in Aberdeen at around half 7 this Sunday!
Come for the love, stay for the hate...
13/07/06 - Shoutbox!
The shoutbox is now working.
w00t.
18/06/06 - Random Update
It's been a while since i did update so i thought i'd better do one now.
Term is pretty much finished, so we all should have a lot more time to write songs, unfortunately a quarter of the band is going to be living a couple of hundred miles away which is going to make practicing a bit difficult.
The good news is that we should have at least two more songs finished by the end of our next practice... hopefully...
On the gig front... well, we've been a bit lazy/preoccupied with exams, and we haven't sent many demos out yet.
We have got a gig in Aberdeen on the 23rd of July, which should be pretty amazing.
Demo's will be sent out soon!
24/05/06 - Congratulations to Beaker!
Yup, well done Beaker for playing an amazing set at the Heriot-Watt Battle of the Bands and walking away with the trophy.
We thought the overall standard was incredible, just goes to show there's a lot of talent at Heriot-Watt!
Since I just got my camcorder back from Sony we thought we'd tape the gig, so if you head over to the downloads page you can find videos and a brand new mp3!
In other news, we're going to be sorting out a gig with The Munchkins at the Three Tuns soon, watch this space for a date.
30/04/06 - Gig info
Howdy folks, I've just updated the gigs page with details of our two upcoming gigs on the 9th and 23rd of May.
We're practicing hard to make sure we're ready for the gigs, and we've almost finished work on a new song, which we may play at the battle of the bands :)
19/04/06 - MySpace
Well, we've given into peer pressure and got ourselves a MySpace, you can find it at www.myspace.com/circuscircusband.
Everyone's finally back from holiday now and we're about to start practicing again.
Should be sending some demos out soon, so watch this space for some live dates (hopefully)
09/03/06 - We Have Proper Recordings!
Thanks to the wonderful people known as Andrew and Martin, as well as Dez for lending us his drums, we've made some proper recordings!
Needless to say, they sound a hell of a lot better than when we stuck a mic in the middle of the practice studio, so head over to the
downloads section and check them out!
25/02/06 - Desktop Background available for download
If you head over to the downloads section you can download our very first desktop
You know, if you want to.
22/02/06 - We have a website!
